Suicide is the third leading cause of death in the world.

Every 40 seconds someone takes their own life somewhere in the world and that does not include the attempts or the questionable accidents.

Men and women who are in the armed forces die by suicide then war.  This includes every conflict zone in the world combined.

Children as young as 11 are choosing suicide and this number is rising.  These are children.

Teens are one of the fastest rising groups dying by suicide.

Adults between the ages of 35 and 64 are rising at an alarming rate.

Mental illness in children, teens and adults is rising in

Why is there so little education on both suicide and mental illness when 90% of all suicides are due to mental illness.

Why is there so few places to go when someone is in a crisis because due to lack of funding by the governments. Very few psychologists because psychiatrists no longer do talk therapy. Crisis lines are busy or they take messages due to lack of funding. Hospitals are overcrowded they use a turnstile approach.

Does this seem right to you?

Why is the stigma on suicide and mental illness is alive and well keeping those who suffer in the darkness.  Those who have lost a loved one to suicide unable to tell anyone how they truly died.  Those who go to church who are still being told their loved one is burning in hell….don’t think for a moment this does not happen in this day and age.

People who are so ignorant they have the nerve to say things such as, those people are so weak.  Those people are the strongest people you will ever know.  Those people took the easy way out. Those people made the hardest choice anyone can make.  They hurt so much all the time that they would rather be hit than feel the emotional pain they do.

Statistically speaking if someone you love is not facing a mental illness or have suicidal thoughts, sadly they will.  Education is power.  This is why a documentary such as the one l want to do must get done.  Fear is no longer an option.  It’s time to invest in humanity.

Thanks, Tracey
